Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton see our men and women in uniform as targets but they’ll continue to place them in harm’s way with no intention of allowing them to protect themselves.

There was not a lot of discussion about foreign policy and national security during Sunday’s presidential debate. Yes, there were cursory lip service inquiries into Syria, but the entire debate could have been spent going around the globe to discuss the issues and solutions to various failures resulting from the inattentive, feckless and dismissive policies of Barack Obama, of which Hillary Clinton has a part. And yesterday we learned of another example of how little we’re regarded by Iran and their allies.
As reported by The Guardian, “A US navy destroyer was targeted with missiles from rebel-held territory in Yemen, a day after Washington said it would review its support for a war led by Saudi Arabia that has devastated the impoverished nation and led to thousands of civilian casualties.
The latest escalation came as the Saudi government pledged to investigate an incident on Saturday in which airstrikes by its coalition allegedly killed more than a hundred mourners at a funeral wake and wounded more than 600 in one of the deadliest single incidents of the 17-month war.
The killing of so many civilians has refocused international attention on the role of western powers in the conflict. Both the UK and the US back the Saudi campaign with intelligence and weaponry despite repeated bombings of civilians as well as hospitals during the conflict.
In a statement on Monday, the Navy said no US sailors were injured and no damage was done to the USS Mason. Lt Ian McConnaughey, a spokesman for US naval forces central command, said it was unclear if the ship was specifically targeted, though the missiles were fired in its direction for an hour, starting at about 7pm. Saudi media also said a ballistic missile fired from Yemen had apparently targeted a Saudi airbase near Mecca, the deepest strike yet into the kingdom by Yemen’s Shia Houthi rebels and their allies.
Riyadh intervened in Yemen in March of last year after the Houthis, Shia rebels who hail from the province of Sa’ada in the north and are backed by Iran, took control of the capital Sana’a and placed the Saudi-backed president, Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, under house arrest.”
I know, folks are going to say what are we supposed to do?
First of all, if the Obama administration hadn’t decided to lift the sanctions on the number one state sponsor of Islamic terrorism maybe the rise of the Houthi rebels wouldn’t have occurred. They’re directly supported by Shia Iran and Iran is seeking to control the country of Yemen, which is on the Saudi peninsula.
Obama’s actions are yet another instance where those who are supposedly our allies are confused by the foreign policy faux pas of Barack Obama.
Just so everyone can comprehend, during the tenure of Obama, Hillary Clinton, and John Kerry, Iran has expanded its regional hegemony to control the capital cities of Yemen, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, and is firming up relationships with Russia and China.
And we have the delusional progressive socialists who still try to convince us all is well with Iran and the “agreement” has halted their nuclear ambitions — hardly so. In all truth, the Neville Chamberlain-esque document Obama threatened Democrat Senators to support — remember, it was NEVER brought to the Senate floor for vote due to filibuster — has served only to embolden the ayatollahs and sent them on the march. And the result has been a constant embarrassment of our U.S. Navy — Sailors on their knees at gunpoint, ships harassed in the international waters of the Persian Gulf, and now missiles fired at one of our Destroyers.
There’s only one response the Iranians and their ilk understand: strength and might. Firing missiles — and the Iranians have done so directly with their ballistic missiles, a violation of said “agreement” — at our naval vessel is an act of war. So what will be our response? Ok, let me tell you…”the United States of America strongly condemns the actions of the Houthi rebels for firing missiles in the direction of our naval vessel. Such action is irresponsible and does not show respect of international law of the sea and places civilians in more harm and danger.”
I don’t know whom the funeral procession was for, nor do I actually care at this point. What I do want the Houthi rebels and their sponsor Iran to know is simple: there should be a price to pay for this blatant belligerence. Sadly, I don’t think any action will be taken.
At the presidential debate Sunday evening, Hillary Clinton — once again like a good Obama Kool-aid drinker — talked about him inheriting the worst economic collapse since the Depression. Well, Obama has done nothing but give us the worst economic recovery since the Great Depression. However, the next president will inherit a degraded global security situation from the fella who got a nice “participation trophy ” called the Nobel Peace Prize.
I wonder if anyone has tallied up the deaths of innocent civilians since Obama came into office and sought to “make America liked again?” He’s systematically decimated our military and diminished our deterrent capability and capacity while enabling our enemies and adversaries. And Obama, Clinton and Kerry have created a chaotic and deadly morass around the world due to their focus on climate change as opposed to the axis now forming.
Hillary Clinton’s weak attempt to blame “hacking” on Russia — well, perhaps she shouldn’t have had an unsecured private email server. And she fails to realize Russia and Putin aren’t seeking to alter our election. Russia is just looking to embarrass America at every turn.
And now we have the Houthi rebels shooting missiles at our destroyer, the USS Mason, and what was our response? I know a little about counter-fire operations, and trust me, the radar system aboard the USS Mason knew exactly the point of origin of those missiles, but just as with the missiles ISIS fired at our FOB (forward operating base) 25 miles south of Mosul, we did nothing in Iraq against that threat, and by God, it appears we shall do …
